Who is POWER HOME Technologies ?

Answer:  Because we have been asked this, we have researched this company to give you some facts about them.

The following information shall be construed as Information Research purposes.  Disclaimer:  We cannot verify all the info or be held harmful, but believe the sources to true and accurate.  We hope this info will help you in learning a little more about the company referred to as POWER HOME TECHNOLOGIES (a.k.a. GE, Monotronics, Vector,  Select Security,  and other aliases).

  • First of all, EVER HEARD OF THEM?? That maybe should be a little concern for a person to entrust their family and possessions to a private company that is NOT on the Stock Exchange open for the Public to see.

  • It appears they are a Sales Company that sells their Agreements to 3rd party vendors.  So, When you attain security from them, you will be SOLD to a 3rd party Monitoring company that you will NOT know!  It appears that currently your agreement will be sold to a company called Monitronics. But not long ago, it was a company called Vector according to bizjournals.com  "PowerHome sells its monitoring business to a company called Vector Security Inc., .......... his contract with Vector expires in August 2010."  And it is rumored that the owner of this company has sold their customers to Other companies.  It appears they will sell to the highest bidder.

  • It appears that there main focus is to get a brand

    New customer installed the SAME DAY. Why?  Perhaps it could be so that customers don’t have time to do some research.

  • We are told that they have You sign your final agreement on an IPAD which makes it harder for the customer to see and get the details of the agreement.

While all Businesses will receive some complaints from time to time, Here are some Customer Complaints that we found that we believe should be relevant to you:

  1. It appears that this customer had a 3 year contract with this Power Home and at the end of the 3 years, it didn’t go MONTH-to-MONTH but it renewed for an entire another 3 years.  So, if you don’t cancel in exact correct time period, be prepared to possibly pay large penalties if you ever decide to cancel.

  1. Here is another Complaint from a Power Home Customer stating that they were SOLD to Vector Security (another 3rd party company) and same problem with high renewal terms:  (It appears that Power Home does NOT disclose that they DO NOT DO MONITORING, but they use a 3rd party company to whom they sell YOUR agreement to them!)

  1. It appears that so many complaint’s led to BBB (Better Business Bureau) REVOKING their BBB License.  They have appeared to fix their Current Ranking, but what led them for that to happen??

  1. Power Home Technologies may also sign you up for 5 year terms with 5 year renewal terms!

  2. Power Home Technologies is Currently based out of North Carolina.  With the Owner changing Company Names (Select Security previous), changing Company Locations (Richmond, VA), changing 3rd party Companies (Vector, Monitronics) to sell your Security Agreement to, WHO KNOWS where you will end up!

When It Comes to Home Security for Your Family and the Ones you love the most,  Our Opinion is that Power Home Technologies has one goal:  To sell your Agreement to the highest paying 3rd Party Vendor and to lock you into very tight contract terms which is NOT in the best interest of their Customers!
